This  event would be of value to Kittery landlords of which there are many in town. It would also of course be beneficial to their tenants and to the Town since taxpayers spend thousands year after year with the needed “Heat and More” program with no reduction in monies literally sent up the chimney heating inefficient structures.

A meeting for owners of multi-unit apartment buildings will be held on May 23 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm at the York Library in York, Maine. Efficiency Maine will be on hand to talk about options and rebate programs for energy efficiency, energy audits, solar energy, pellet boilers, heat pumps, insulation, green home design, and biofuels.

New affordable technologies make it easy for home and business owners to reduce energy use, switch to clean sources and save money. Clean energy and efficiency help Maine communities to become more sustainable by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, one of today’s most pressing environmental needs.

This event is organized by the York Energy Steering Committee in collaboration with the York Community Services Association, as part of a weatherization program for low-income families in York. The project is funded by Rotary International and Efficiency Maine and administered by Habitat for Humanity York County. The Energy Steering Committee’s mission is to advise York’s Selectboard on matters of energy policy and to help reduce York’s carbon emissions.
