Kittery hires new manager.

kendra1Wilmington Assistant Town Manager Kendra Amaral has just been selected as the next Town Manager of Kittery, Maine.

The announcement was made by Kittery Interim Town Manager Carol Granfield on Tuesday.  Amaral’s formal appointment will take place this Thursday, September 22 at 5pm at a special Town Council meeting.

Amaral was one of 31 candidates that applied for the job.  She was chosen after being interviewed by a panel of citizens, department heads and Town Council members. Amaral was the top choice for each of those groups and received unanimous support from the Council.

“Kittery looks forward to having this talented new Town Manager assist the community moving forward,” said Interim Town Manager Carol Granfield.

Amaral has been the Assistant Town Manager in Wilmington since 2012.  Prior to arriving in town, Amaral served as the Deputy Director of Planning and Development in Lowell; Chief of Staff to the Mayor in Amesbury; and Director of Planning & Research of Boston Children’s Museum.
