KITTERY, Maine — Kim Sanborn wasn’t planning to get involved with Kittery Historical & Naval Museum when her mother, who was involved with the museum, told her about the holiday open house about five years ago.

Sanborn couldn’t find anything about it online. There wasn’t a Facebook page. She called her mom, “How does anybody know about this? You need to get the museum started on social media.”

“She called me back 20 minutes later and said, ‘Can you do that?’”
