Kittery police investigating elder robberies regarding two reported robberies that occurred on Monday night. One occurred in the area of Bridge Street and the other was in the area of Village Green Drive. Both victims were elderly. KITTERY, Maine — The Kittery police chief said the department has not made any arrests from two incidents Monday evening: a robbery and attempted robbery.

Chief Ted Short held a press conference at the police station and elaborated on some of the details from the two incidents.

The first incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. on the area of Bridge Street. Short said an elderly man was walking his dog back home when an unknown male approached him from behind and said he had a knife and demanded the victim’s wallet. When the victim yelled to his wife to call the police, the subject fled without any money and without showing a weapon. The victim was not injured.

About an hour later, and about a half-mile from the first incident, another 911 call came from Village Green Drive. An elderly woman reported a man had entered her residence and demanded money. “He told her to give him all her money and she would not be hurt,” Short said.
