Kittery School Committee approves budget
KITTERY, Maine — The School Committee unanimously approved a $16.2 million operating budget for the 2016-17 school year this week.
The committee voted 7-0 to approve a budget that is in essence a 2.9 percent increase over last year’s and a 2.18 percent increase to Kittery taxpayers. However, the budget includes moving a $400,000 special education contingency fund created years ago by the Town Council into the school budget.
