Resident sues Kittery over hotel approval By Jesse Scardina

KITTERY, Maine — A resident is suing the Planning Board over its decision to approve plans to build an 83-room Hampton Inn hotel on Route 1 near the shopping outlets, due to its roof shape and building height violating town code.

Richard Balano of Ox Point Drive filed suit in York County Superior Court against the town and Planning Board over its August approval of a four-story hotel at 275 Route 1, at what is locally known as the Dansk Outlets.
