KITTERY, Maine — The town’s library committee met on Tuesday to gather review data from other library construction and rehabilitation projects in the New England region, to help formulate what the building goals should be for a new Rice Public Library.
The library committee was formed earlier this year by the Town Council and charged with finding answers to five questions posed by the council. These questions include where and what size the facility should be on the proposed site near the Kittery Community Center, how visitors should access the library, the impact on the neighborhood, operational budget and what should be done with the currently library buildings.
