Firefighters quickly extinguished a fire early Monday that damaged a rundown Victorian home at 119 Pepperrell Road in Kittery, but one firefighter was seriously injured.

The two brothers who live at the home – which had no electricity or water – called the fire department shortly after 4 a.m. to report the fire. Fire Chief David O’Brien was at the house in four minutes and saw smoke coming from the eaves and the side of one of the windows, he said.
