Kittery Recycling Committee offers scholarship, Hurry ends soon!

scholarship-iconThe Kittery Educational Scholarship Selection Committee is looking for applicants for its Recycling Committee scholarship for anyone attending a college or technical school.

The Town Council established the scholarship committee, which is again offering scholarships with funds accumulated over the years from the Recycling Committee. In addition to academic achievement and demonstrated financial need, special consideration may be given to an applicant who shows an interest in conservation, the environment or other recycling related issues.

An essay of 250 to 500 words relating to the aforementioned topic is required. Information packets are available at Town Hall and Rice Public Library and should be delivered to the town clerk’s office no later than April 15.

Why not apply and help pay for further education.

The deadline for submission of the essay and application to the Recycling Scholarship Selection Committee at the Kittery Town Hall is April 15th.  Applications are available at the Library, School Dept. and Town Hall.

Here is the overview.

Money collected from the cans collected at the transfer station goes to the scholarship. The rules are not very restrictive, so read the rules.
