KITTERY, Maine – Sales of single-family homes in town dropped by almost half during the fall months of September, October and November compared to the same period in 2013.

Condominium sales didn’t fare much better as they were down by more than a quarter over a year ago.

Transfer tax declarations on file in the assessor’s office show house sales volume dropped by 48.7 percent while condo sales volume fell by 28.5 percent. The data show 23 single-family homes sold for a total of $7.2 million during the fall period compared to $14.1 million during the same period in 2013. Summer home sales totaled $18.3 million.

The sales included a house that sold for $1.225 million on Thaxter Lane in November.
