HISTORY OF FORT MCCLARY: The Friends of Fort McClary will present “Fort McClary, 1675 through 1775” to the public at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the Kittery Community Center’s Star Theater. The 60-minute presentation will focus on the early years of the fort, and will include history and facts related to the Pepperrell family’s role in the establishment of the fort and the Kittery Militia. Events will be held on a monthly basis to invite the public to participate in the renaissance of the Wallingford Square area or as also termed: The Foreside Loop. Kittery Community Market: will celebrate the opening day of its second season from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 28. To kick off the season, it will be hosting a Start Your Garden Day. To celebrate the gardening season, the farmers will be offering a huge variety of seedlings including vegetable, herbs, flowers and more. The farmers will be available to answer questions about the best plants for your own garden.
