Traip student earns credit for duck decoys

duckKITTERY, Maine – Traip Academy senior James Lawrence was in a bit of a bind last April. He realized he was going to be one art credit short of meeting his graduation requirement.

Since Lawrence takes a welding course through the Sanford Technical Center, he knew he was not going to be able to fit the remaining art class into his schedule. That was when he decided to pursue an extended learning opportunity through Traip Academy.

Lawrence learned how to duck hunt just over a year ago, so to satisfy his missing art credit he said, why not find a way to combine art and his newfound pastime?
