As a rule, the council interviews candidates to the Planning Board, Board of Appeals and to the Kittery Port Authority in public during a public meeting, per town charter. Each time over the past year this has occurred, members have complained of the public nature of the interview that Councilor Ken Lemont called “demeaning and embarrassing for everyone involved.”
