KITTERY, Maine — Residents, town staff and department heads, current and former councilors and members of various boards came to the Kittery Community Center Tuesday afternoon to wish Town Manger Nancy Colbert Puff farewell.

She finishes two-and-half-years as town manager at the end of the day on Thursday. Next month, she is scheduled to begin as the deputy city manager in Portsmouth.

People trickled in and out to wish her well and to hear Colbert Puff’s iconic laugh for one of the last times as town manager.

“I love Kittery,” she told the group after Town Clerk Maryann Place presented Colbert Puff a gift from the town staff — a paperweight with a photo of the sun setting over the waters of Kittery Point. She described Place “as a saint walking the earth.”
