Show goes on without power at Kittery’s Star Theatre

KITTERY, Maine — It was a classic case of “the show must go on.”
Five songs into the 5 p.m. performance of the musical revue “Smokey Joe’s Cafe” at Star Theatre at the Kittery Community Center on Sunday, the power went out. It was about 5:30 p.m.
“The lights went completely black,” said Diane DuBois, executive director of Patrick Dorow Productions. “I’ve never seen something go so black so fast.”
The show stopped at first. The initial thought was a power overload from the show might have killed the lights.
