Commander reflects on tenure at shipyard

KITTERY, Maine — The U.S. Navy announced earlier this month that Capt. William Greene will be relieved as commander of Portsmouth Naval Shipyard this summer after about a three-year tour. The Navy named David Hunt as the shipyard’s 85th shipyard commander.
The Navy has not announced Greene’s next assignment, though he believes it is likely he will be in Washington, D.C. Seacoast Sunday sat down with Greene earlier this week to reflect on his time as commander, his family, the community and his next steps.
