Kittery, Eliot will seek shared police chief

KITTERY, Maine – Both Eliot and Kittery officials have decided to advertise jointly for a new police chief, with an advisory committee to help vet the applicants, according to Kittery Town Manager Nancy Colbert Puff.

The two towns entered an agreement with current Police Chief Theodor Short in 2013 on a three-year contract, with Short announcing earlier this year that he was going to retire at the end of his current contract in June 2016.
