Kittery Rice Public Library kicks off Halloween season

Rice Public Library is kicking off Halloween season with high-tech lasers and old-school storytelling.

The library is hosting its annual Halloween Laser Spooktacular on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. in the Kittery Community Center’s Star Theatre. Children and grownups are invited to wear their favorite costumes and sing along to Halloween classics such as “Monster Mash” and “Ghostbusters” while images play out on the big screen. Glow sticks will be provided.

“More silly than scary, there will be laser caricatures of classic Halloween personalities, which make for an event on an epic scale that is appropriate for everyone,” said youth services librarian Jennifer Kelley. “The best part is everybody learns a little science along the way without realizing it — trick or treat!”

Registration is required for both events. Sign up at www.rice.lib.me.us/eventsreg.asp or call the library at (207) 439-1553 ext. 2.
