KITTERY, Maine — Five groups that have been meeting this spring to devise a citizen-driven plan for Kittery Foreside will share their work at 7 p.m. Monday, June 16.
The groups were formed following several Foreside Forums spearheaded by the town in late winter and spring to brainstorm ideas for the Foreside.
In the past year, the area has seen considerable growth, with at least eight new businesses opening since last fall in the downtown alone.
The meetings were held with the idea of getting ahead of the growth and making some decisions about the future of the Foreside.
The groups include business use; housing; parking, transportation and circulation; public lands; and infrastructure.
The groups will be asked to present their work to date and discuss their progress.
They will meet again in the fall, with the goal of presenting a final report. All reports will go into what is expected to be a blueprint for Foreside development.
The meeting will be held at the Kittery Community Center.
