KITTERY, MAINE — My Breast Cancer Support has announced they will be hosting their second annual Take Flight Survivor Celebration at Take Flight Aerial Adventures Wednesday, June 11.
My Breast Cancer Support is an independent N.H. nonprofit organization that provides emotional wellness programs and tangible support for breast cancer patients and their families in the Greater Seacoast area.
Local breast cancer patients and survivors are invited to dare themselves on Maine’s largest high ropes challenge course where they will enjoy more than 65 activities and elements including multi-vines, cat walks, burma bridges, tube nets, swinging tires, swinging platforms and a new Mega Swing.
“Whether a patient is struggling financially, suffering from the side effects of treatment or feeling alone, it’s so important to their overall well-being to find ways to better cope — during and after treatment — so they can focus their energy on learning how to embrace their new normal,” said Wendy McCoole, executive director and founder of My Breast Cancer Support.
“Because we now work with seven cancer centers in the greater seacoast of New Hampshire and Maine, we thought it would be a wonderful idea to have patients and survivors from all over the region face some of their fears head on and feel empowered together.”
There is no charge to participate in the Take Flight Survivor Celebration.
Each survivor is welcome to bring one adult guest plus their immediate children (under the age of 18) also at no charge, though some restrictions apply. Additional friends and family members are welcome to come and observe.
