Shapleigh Odyssey Finals.

Three Shapleigh Middle School teams are headed to the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals in May, following the state meet last weekend.

A total of five Shapleigh teams participated, and three placed either first or second in their divisions, ensuring they will have a spot at the world championships in Ames, Iowa.

The state OM tournament was held in Waterville on March 29.

Placing first was the “Driver’s Test” Division II team, comprised of sixth-graders Killian Campbell, Braeden Cole, Madelyn Battcock-Emerson, Jonah Matso, Jayce Nielsen, Henry O’Shaughnessy and Jayna Wheeler.

Two teams placed second in their division. The “It’s How We Rule” Division II team includes sixth-graders Emma Ackerman, Sydney Auclair, Cameron Brayne, Julia Campion, Elias Matso, Nichole Roberts and Molly Stites.

The “Stackable Structure” Division II team includes sixth-graders Mack D’Angelo and Stephen Whitney, and eighth-graders Sam Battcock-Emerson, Jacob Gagner, Cole Gilbert, Emma O’Shaughnessy, and Cameron Webb.
