PORTSMOUTH — Archer Western Contractors will be closing the Memorial Bridge to all traffic (vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian) from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. four nights next week, starting Monday night at 11 p.m. (Feb. 17) through Friday morning (Feb. 21) at 5 a.m.

From 7 to 11 p.m. on those nights, traffic will be restricted to one alternating lane in each direction. The rest of the time, the bridge will be open in both lanes to all modes of traffic.

The closure is needed to continue the guiderail adjustments that began this week. Work on the guiderails was slowed due to the winter weather conditions. The bridge is an active work zone during this time so no entry will be allowed.
